Wotton Area CAN is a small, volunteer-led group with a passion for fostering environmental awareness and positive change within our local community.
Our work is made possible thanks to the support of small grants and the incredible generosity of individuals who believe in our mission.
Every single contribution, no matter how big or small, plays a crucial role in enabling us to continue organising a wide range of inspiring events, educational workshops, free public speaker events and community projects.
These activities bring people together, spark new ideas, and empower local residents to take meaningful action for a more sustainable future.
If you are in a position to support us, your donation will have a real and lasting impact. It will help us to keep momentum going, reach more people, and deepen the positive difference we make in the Wotton area.

Over the past year Wotton Area CAN volunteers have achieved the following:
-
Local people have helped us plant around 3,000 hedge and tree saplings in the last year, with 500 of these coming from our tree nursery and the rest donated from the Gloucestershire CC Tree Fund (We’ve planted over 12,000 trees since our group started).
-
Our tree nursery and wildflower areas at Holywell Leaze and Marchesi Walk all thrive, thanks to local support.
-
Volunteers monitored the water quality in our streams to identify and address pollution.
-
We have collaborated with the Wotton Gardening Club, local Swifts group, and St. Mary’s Eco Church to enhance biodiversity and wildlife in our town.
-
Our supporters contributed to the Nature Recovery Strategy for the whole of Gloucestershire.
-
Wotton Area CAN promoted 'No Mow May' and 'Plastic Free July,' with an emphasis on local solutions to help support wildlife and reduce waste.
-
A local resident helped chip Christmas Trees for us, providing mulch and raising funds for our group and local charity Rory’s Well.
-
We updated our website to contain videos of many of our guest speaker talks, as well as articles about common questions we hear, such as how best to add solar or retrofit a home
-
We have continued our well-attended free public speaker events with a wonderful series of talks from guest speakers including: local farmers on regenerative agriculture, Glorious Cotswold Grasslands project, Wotton's waterways, Passivhaus house design and Retrofit.
In addition, Primary school age children (and their adults!) joined us for Wildlife Watch events to explore and learn in nature.
We’re very proud of our achievements this year and excited about the next 12 months.
If you would like to support the work that we do and are able to donate any amount please do so using the form here.
Many Thanks
Wotton Area CAN team.
