About the event

Following on from his popular zoom talk given during lockdown in 2021, Dr. Kevin Howard returns in person to update us on the significant developments in Nuclear Power. We'll hear about the UK’s climate targets and how Nuclear Power might help achieve Net Zero by 2050, covering the background of the UK energy 'supply and demand' estimates and how well we are doing since the government published its 10-point plan in 2020.

Dr. Howard will present a simple explanation of nuclear power and how it works, including why it could offer a long-term solution to electricity generation. We'll take a look at the status of current nuclear power technology in the UK, at Nuclear Fusion technologies, why is it so difficult and does it offer a real future for clean energy? Doors open at 7.30pm and the talk will start at 8pm, with opportunities for questions at the end. All of these talks are filmed and a copy available to view via the website.

Free entry, and the bar will be open. Donations to Wotton Area Climate and Nature Network are welcome.
